    Faisal Shine - Ridge Ventilators

Ridge ventilators are ventilators that are installed at the peak of a roof. They can be made either from 0.47mm, 0.50mm or 0.60mm TCT Pre-Painted Galvanized/Galvalume Steel or Bare Galvalume material with Z 90/AZ 150 coating, with wire mesh net. FEATURES:

  • They are covered with a wire mesh net, to restrict the entry of birds in the ventilator
  • They are leak proof ventilation in Ridge point
  • They enable easy installation on the roof
  • What are Roofing Ventilators?

Roofing system ventilators offer a solution to improve ventilation in and out of the building. They are installed on top of the roof and help in controlling interior temperature and humidity by removing excess heat and moisture inside. Effective ventilation helps maintain the indoor condition healthy and prevents issues like mold, condensation, and attic or another roof overheating.

Why should roofs be well ventilated?

    • Avoids Moisture Accumulation: Ventilators provide moisture evaporation that tends to accumulate in the attic and thereby avoids the growth of mildew and mold.
    • Temperature Control: Ventilators let the warm air escape and control the roof area to be cool during summer, which reduces the cooling system load.
    • Increases Roof Life: Effective ventilation avoids roofing material damage through the elimination of heat expansion or water damage.
    • Increases Energy Efficiency: Ventilators maintain indoor temperature, reducing energy needs and lowering utility bills.

    Types of Roof Ventilators

    • Static Ventilators: Use natural air movement to expel hot air and moisture. Commonly used in homes and businesses.
    • Ridge Ventilators: Installed along the roof ridge, providing constant airflow throughout the entire roof.
    • Whirlybird Ventilators: Rotary ventilators powered by wind energy to rotate and evacuate hot air.
    • Power Ventilators: Electrically powered for high-capacity ventilation, typically used in commercial buildings.
    • Box Ventilators: Fixed vents installed in small spaces to allow airflow.

    Working Principle

Roof ventilators allow hot air, moisture, and contaminants to escape from the roof space. Natural ventilation allows rising hot air to exit while drawing in cooler air. Wind-driven ventilators like whirlybirds or powered ones mechanically expel air, promoting constant circulation and structural longevity.

    Benefits of Installing Roof Ventilators

    • Improved Indoor Air Quality
    • Energy Efficiency
    • Control of Moisture
    • Longer Roof Life
    • Enhanced Comfort

    Lifespan of Roof Ventilators

Static and ridge ventilators last 15–25 years. Whirlybird and power ventilators last 10–20 years with proper maintenance. Installation quality and material affect lifespan significantly.

    Do I Need Roof Ventilators?

    • Overheating in attic or rising cooling bills
    • Signs of moisture, condensation, or mold
    • Roof material deterioration
    • Poor air quality indoors

    Factors When Choosing Roof Ventilators

    • Roof Type: Flat, sloped, or pitched affects choice.
    • Building Size: Larger buildings need stronger ventilation.
    • Climate: Match ventilator type with your climate.
    • Energy Efficiency: Choose ventilators that lower energy use.
    • Maintenance: Ridge vents are low-maintenance, whirlybirds may need more care.

    Cost of Roof Ventilators

Cost depends on type, material, and installation. Static vents are cheaper, while whirlybirds or powered vents are costlier. Faisal Roofing offers competitive pricing and custom quotes.

    Installation Process

    1. Assessment of ventilation needs
    2. Positioning the ventilator
    3. Cutting and mounting
